How do you deal with a unity candle at an outdoor wedding?
Ours is actually a viw renewal. 5 years ago out beach wedding was cancelled due to a hurrricane. Since we are already married we are including the children and making it a " family candle" . Each of our 5 his parents are divorced, father remarried for 26 years parents will light a taper and each of our family us and 3 children will use one to light the big candle together. I did read a bit on the sand but not sure it would work for us.
Need help finding the right unity candles?
the colors of my wedding are white and red, i would like for the two smaller candles to be white and then the middle one to be red, but i cant find any sets like this or a website that even has a red unity candle, i think the color change makes it more symbolic and have my heart set on this please help me find what im looking for, i am not apposed to making my own candle i just dont know how
Should I have our unity candle and my fiance's late fathers remembrance candle on the same table?

My fiance's father passed away a few years back but we still wanted to have something special set up for him. We were thinking about having a small slideshow set up for him with pictures of the father and his three children and also a remembrance candle. We were thinking about putting the slideshow and candle on the same table as our unity candle but I don't know if it'd be too tacky to do this. I also would like to know how to go about setting this up during the ceremony. I know my mother and my fiance's mother lights the " seperate" candles by the unity candle before the ceremony and then me and my fiance light the unity candle during but how do we go about lighting the remembrance candle for his father?I don't want to have to set up two different tables and then have to move them once the ceremony is over because we are having the reception at the same place and Lord forbid someone bumps into them and knocks it over. Any suggestions?
Unity candle alternatives?
i like the idea of having a " unity candle" at our roman catholic wedding ceremony. i'd like something different but with the same idea of uniting our two families. i don't want to do sand and the whole idea of blowing out the candle right after we light it is sad
Unity candles vs a sand ceremony?
I am getting married in May and my mother is in Heaven. I know that when you get married the mothers light the unity candle.Should I do a sand ceremony instead or do you have any other ideas? I first saw one in October, which was different but kind of neat.I am having a simple ceremony and no reception. I am having cake and punch with nuts and pretzels and mints after the ceremony.Thank you for your kind answers.How would you do the unity candles since my mother is not here? Aren't they suppose to light them too?
Music for the Unity candle lighting?
I cannot find any music I like for the lighting of the unity candle. I'm having a rendition of the wedding march played when I walk down the isle, cannon in d for my bridesmaids, and kenny G's the wedding song for the mothers and grandmothers. I have looked at every ones ideas on this site and searched Youtube and still nothing. I'm having a lady in her 60's sing during the lighting. The song should fit with the other music but I just can't find anything to fit with my personality. If I could choose I would have all contemporary music, but I can't. Any ideas?
